23rd November 2008 : With two shops in Newcastle it's time to move over the river and into Gateshead. Work begins on shop number three in the Yellow Quadrant, Metrocentre with the aim to be open in time for Christmas.
3rd November 2008 : In order to ensure that Shakeaholic milkshakes are the best available we comissioned Blendtec to develop unique blend cycles for us. Each of our Blendtec blenders features a series of custom cycles for each different type of flavour to ensure that your milkshake is blended to perfection
28th May 2008 : Clayton Street was the first, now there's a second Shakeaholic open at Old Eldon Square in Newcastle. This shop is more than double the size of Clayton Street and features a large seating area both inside and outside of the shop.
21st April 2008 : Top quality ice cream is what's at the heart of a Shakeaholic, it's what makes it taste so good. With that in mind we went back to the labs to develop our own unique blend of ice cream specifically for this purpose. Using only top quality ingredients, sourced locally we've come up with what we think is perfection. We had to eat and drink our way through mountains of ice cream but that's the sacrifice that you make in the quest for the best.
27th November 2007 : Due to popular demand we're now selling gift vouchers. If you're stuck for Birthday or Christmas gift ideas then what better to show somebody that you love them?
2nd October 2007 : Shakeaholic launch their Shake n Save scheme. We like to reward our loyal customers so we've set up a loyalty system. Simply pick up a card next time you buy a shake and we'll stamp it for you. Every time you buy a shake we'll stamp it again. Collect stamps and we'll give you free stuff like a large shake, keyrings, T-shirts or an exclusive hoodie.
7th Sept 2007 : In order to make our shakes even better we've replaced our blenders with Blendtecs. If you've been living under a rock and haven't seen what these are capable of, just go to willitblend.com. and watch the crazy scientist blend iPods and light bulbs and golf clubs
5th May 2007 : Clayton Street in Newcastle is a hive of activity as Shakeaholic opens its doors for business. Queues start from 10am and continue throughout the day. At 6pm Steve and Ian are admitted to the RVI suffering with exhaustion.
27 August 2006 : Steve and Ian come up with the idea for Shakeaholic. Sitting on a beach in Gran Canaria, the Philpott brothers yearn for a milkshake. Sadly all they can find is slush and Budweiser so they start to fantasise about milkshakes in hundreds of flavours. That day the concept for Shakeaholic is born.
